2 Months to GO!

Dear 💛 Athletes, only two months to go!

Two months remain until the great cycling event 🚴 in Ancient Olympia, the legendary L’Etape Greece by Tour de France 💛 presented by SKODA 2025!

The next 8 weeks are crucial—not only for preparing your body and gear, but also for preparing your mind and spirit! We are here to help you become the best version of ☀️🌈 yourself on the demanding 🚴 terrain of Ancient Olympia.

Whether your goal is to improve your performance 🏆 or simply to enjoy your favorite sport in a breathtaking landscape, now is the time to focus on the following:

💛 OUR TRAINING

💛 The next 4 weeks are ideal for building endurance and strength with:

  • Long rides 🚴 at race pace to build endurance
  • Shorter rides with high-intensity bursts to increase strength
  • Strength training focusing on key muscle groups used in cycling
  • Recovery rides to prevent fatigue

💛 The final 4 weeks before the race will be more relaxed but highly targeted:

  • Training on terrain with elevation changes
  • Reducing training volume in the last 2 weeks
  • Testing our nutrition and hydration plan 💦 with the same products we’ll use on race day
  • Prioritizing stretching, massages, and foam rolling. We recommend the Physioathens team, our Official Recovery Partner, who will be there for you.

💛 OUR NUTRITION HABITS

  • Consuming complex carbohydrates from whole grains, 🍌🍎🥝 fruits, and vegetables
  • Maintaining muscle mass with proteins like chicken, fish, and tofu
  • Getting essential healthy fats from avocado, nuts, and olive oil
  • Drinking plenty of 💦 water—always! Using electrolytes during training

💛 BIKE & GEAR CHECK-UP

  • Checking our 🚴 bike and getting a final service. We recommend our Official Bike Service partner, Marathon Bikes, the team will be on site, in Ancient Olympia.
  • Paying special attention to brakes, tires, gears, chain, and replacing any worn-out parts.
  • Riding on the right bike position by getting a Bike Fitting.
  • Checking our helmet, cycling shoes, cleats, glasses, gloves, and apparel.
  • Preparing our race-day nutrition. Again, we recommend our Nutrition Partner, GU Energy Greece, who will be present on the course.

💛 OUR NECESSARY MEDICAL CHECKS

  • Informing our general physician that we are participating in the race and following their guidance, which will likely include:
    • General Blood Tests
    • General ❤️ Cardiology Tests
    • Additional medical examinations if needed. Health comes first!

However, our mental and emotional well-being are equally important. We stay calm and happy, keeping our ☀️🌈 enthusiasm for the experience ahead. Everyday life may bring unexpected challenges to our plans, but we remain optimistic and resist negativity, doing what we love, with the people we love (cycling!)

💛 And most importantly!

In every adventure the journey 🚴🚴🚴 matters more than the destination. Every moment, every step towards L’Etape Greece is part of the experience. Enjoy it!

💛 See you in Ancient Olympia,
The L’Etape Greece by Tour de France Team
