In 2023, for the very first time, the legend of the Tour de France, the world’s most renowned cycling race, met the mythic spirit of Greece amid the enchanting landscapes of Western Greece, in Ancient Olympia. Over 600 amateur and professional cyclists from Greece and around the world shared the emotions felt by Tour de France riders as they traversed mountainous paths. Participants had the chance to challenge themselves, to immerse in a unique blend of Greek nature and ancient history on closed routes, and to experience an adventure that became unforgettable.
In 2024, L’Étape Greece by Tour de France, presented by SKODA, returned stronger and even more organized, welcoming 1,000 cyclists from across the globe. The event firmly established itself as one of Greece's premier sports events, highlighting Greek Sports Tourism. Just like every other event in the international Tour de France series, L’Étape Greece is crafted by experts to meticulously recreate the French L’Étape du Tour experience down to the last detail. The event is organized to the world-class standards of the Tour de France, immersing cyclists in the thrilling atmosphere of the French cycling race, where they can experience the same conditions as professional riders in a peloton.
The two race options (130 km and 75 km) offered by L’Étape cater to amateur cyclists who want to push their limits and to those simply wishing to enjoy a uniquely beautiful loop around the birthplace of the Olympic Games, Ancient Olympia.
